So I recently purchased a super clean 2013 ATS and since I live in the rust belt (Michigan) I decided to get an estimate for underbody rust protection and a detail. I walked out with a quote for about $1,600 for rust protection and ceramic coating on all the painted surfaces. I found this to be extremely expensive and wondered if it is actually worth it for undercoating a modern vehicle. I doubt the ATS rusts as easily as my first vehicle (a 1991 mercury sable lol). I maintain my vehicles religiously and wax a couple times of year and spray fluid film out of a can on the underbody as well. I was thinking if I do anything maybe do a ceramic coating as it seems like I would benefit most from that. Anyone have any thoughts on these 2 things?
