Stock halogen vs stock HID

I find that the halogen lights in my base model are adequate, even in dark roads in the rain, and I have mentioned this before, only to be shot down by pretty much everyone.
I think that people want the HID look, because according to the IIHS, there is not much difference in performance, and the halogen actually is better in some respects.
